I was also a member of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lif.univ-mrs.fr\/~qarma\/\">Qarma<\/a> (Machine Learning and Multimedia) team which is situated within the Fundamental Computer Science laboratory (Laboratoire d&rsquo;Informatique Fondamentale de Marseille, a.k.a. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lif.univ-mrs.fr\/\">LIF<\/a>). My research interests lie principally in the fields of machine learning, statistics, and signal processing, more precisely in: kernel methods, functional data analysis, and speech and audio processing. Although I have been working and continue to work on research issues specific to each of these fields, many of my interests lie in the intersection of them, and cover both methodological as well as application aspects.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">From December 2009 to August 2012, I was a postdoctoral researcher in the <a href=\"https:\/\/sequel.lille.inria.fr\/\">SequeL<\/a> (Sequential Learning) team at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.inria.fr\/\">INRIA<\/a> Lille &#8211; Nord Europe in France working with <a href=\"https:\/\/philippe-preux.github.io\">Philippe Preux<\/a> on regularization for functional regression models: theory, sequential algorithms and applications.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">From November 2008 to December 2009, I was a postdoctoral fellow at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cristal.univ-lille.fr\">LAGIS<\/a> (Laboratory of Control, Computer Science &amp; Signal) in Lille, France. the research project that I worked on, under the supervision of <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.linkedin.com\/in\/emmanuel-duflos-06610957\">Emmanuel Duflos<\/a> and the collaboration of <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.linkedin.com\/in\/manuel-davy\">Manuel Davy<\/a>, involved functional data analysis: classification and regression.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In 2008, I received my Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the National Engineering School of Tunis (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.enit.rnu.tn\/\">ENIT<\/a>), working with Systems and Signal Processing Lab (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lsts.rnu.tn\/\">LSTS<\/a>) and the High School of Technology and Computer Science (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.esti.rnu.tn\/\">ESTI<\/a>). My advisor was Pr. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.enit.rnu.tn\/\">Noureddine Ellouze<\/a>.
